That didn't sit right. So he called it out. He took on the gatekeepers in public and demanded that Denver hip-hop get the respect it earned. When the industry wouldn't listen, he built the platform himself.
As a teenager, Sly Guevara saw it firsthand. He watched talented artists get shut out while the same few names got all the attention. The underground scene, the real culture, was left in the dark.
Before Crazy TV, Denver hip-hop had no real media. If you weren't one of a chosen few, local outlets didn't cover you. The artists grinding in the streets, the ones making the real music of this city, stayed invisible.
The First to Give Denver Hip-Hop a Real Voice.
The Birth of Crazy TV
Crazy TV launched in 2017 as one of the first media companies built only for Denver's local hip-hop scene. No industry politics. No favorites. Just raw, real Denver hip-hop.
It was never about money. It was about giving real artists a voice and a place to be seen, a movement for the ones grinding in the streets with nowhere to show their talent.
Still Here. Still Running. Still for the Culture.
Cyphers, interviews, live events and coverage that didn't exist before. Years later, we're still here, still putting a light on the talent the mainstream skips.

Culture brings people together. Through our shows, events and collaborations, we put the people who make it in front of the people who love it.

He Didn't Wait for Permission
Meet Sly Guevara: The Founder Who Fought for Denver's Hip-Hop Scene
Denver's hip-hop scene wasn't always thriving. Gatekeepers decided what Denver hip-hop looked like, and if they didn't pick you, you didn't exist.
Sly Guevara refused to accept that. As a teenager he saw talented rappers struggle, not because they lacked skill but because nobody would give them a mic.
Local outlets ignored them and covered only what fit their own story.
So Sly fought back. He called out local media for ignoring the city's real music. He sent journalists playlists of underground artists, and some of those artists ended up in print. The demand for Denver's real hip-hop was there all along.
Outlets started covering names he put forward, and some wrote about his own work in the community.
But occasional coverage wasn't enough. So he made a decision:
If the industry wouldn't give Denver hip-hop a platform, he would build one.
Building Denver's First Real Hip-Hop Platform
In 2017, Crazy TV was born. Not for money. Not for clout. To give authentic Denver hip-hop a place to be seen, heard and respected.
No industry politics. No favorites. Just raw, underground talent, broadcast for the whole city to see.
The cyphers, interviews and artist showcases turned into a movement, and some of the same outlets that once ignored the scene started paying attention.
The Legacy Lives On

Still standing. Still for the culture.

Our commitment is simple: break barriers, create opportunities and give every voice a fair shot. Our shows, live events and collaborations put overlooked artists on stage and give Denver's hip-hop, reggaeton, R&B, EDM and MMA communities the recognition they earned.
Community is the reason Crazy TV exists. Sly Guevara started it to put the city's hidden talent and overlooked creatives on camera, and that is still the job.

Getting the media to listen was only the start. Crazy TV was built to be the platform Denver artists could count on: no picking favorites, a fair shot for everyone.
Before Crazy TV, a few people decided which Denver artists got seen, and most of the city's best voices went unheard. Sly Guevara called it out, pushed for real coverage, and outlets started covering artists they had ignored. The scene began to shift.

CTV Cyphers: The Heartbeat of Denver's Hip Hop
The CTV Cyphers series started it all. Local rappers got a stage to show their talent, connect and compete for recognition, and the cyphers became the proving ground for Denver's underground. Freestyles, live performances and a crowd that decides.
